I entered the industry with one of the largest non-bank KiwiSaver providers, working in a number of roles. This gave me insight into not only KiwiSaver, but also how the providers work, the common questions people had, how to speed up withdrawals, among much more. I spoke to people who I knew were falling into the common mistakes we make with our KiwiSavers, but I couldn’t help them. That’s when I decided to become a financial adviser. From there I moved to one of the largest financial advice firms in the country, working with the top advisers, learning how to apply my knowledge to real clients. Since then, I started giving advice on my own, before creating Voyager Financial.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Emma, cat Maple, and dog Marmite. I also like to get time in at the gym when I can. I love to play a game or two, it doesn’t matter whether that’s a board game or video game, as long as there’s a challenge and a chance to win I’ll be playing. In the summer I race at speedway most weekends, travelling around the North Island going to meetings.
